polka anyone?

i just got a call to my mobile phone from a number i did not recognize. usually when that happens, i let it go to voicemail and then check it out.

this particular lady (who will remain nameless) from an assisted living facility left a recording that she had heard from another lady (who also will remain nameless) that i played the accordian and wondered if i would be interested in coming to play for her assisted living people. she gave a return number.

needless to say, i called her back to let her know that i was not the person she probably wanted. we found out where the number skewed, and she thanked me for letting her know.

since i've changed my number, i've had a few calls to the prior owner of the number, sometimes asking for various things. once, i got an offer to return to an establishment in pigeon forge and bartend again this past summer. (although i imagined the life like the movie cocktail, i never did return that call.)

morale of the story: if your life is boring and you get the same ol' calls all the time, change your phone number and see how interesting it gets.
