polka anyone?
i just got a call to my mobile phone from a number i did not recognize. usually when that happens, i let it go to voicemail and then check it out.
this particular lady (who will remain nameless) from an assisted living facility left a recording that she had heard from another lady (who also will remain nameless) that i played the accordian and wondered if i would be interested in coming to play for her assisted living people. she gave a return number.
needless to say, i called her back to let her know that i was not the person she probably wanted. we found out where the number skewed, and she thanked me for letting her know.
since i've changed my number, i've had a few calls to the prior owner of the number, sometimes asking for various things. once, i got an offer to return to an establishment in pigeon forge and bartend again this past summer. (although i imagined the life like the movie cocktail, i never did return that call.)
morale of the story: if your life is boring and you get the same ol' calls all the time, change your phone number and see how interesting it gets.

cube pumpkin

i carved a pumpkin up for the day. first pic is a his profile. second one looks like he has two teeth, but the are really glow sticks...which didn't really have the effect i wanted.
all this pumpkin stuff going around, the carving, the lattés...this is all makin' me hungry for a pumpkin pie. if i can find some free moments this week, i'll make one. i'll have to be sure to get the cool whip, cuz pumpkin pie tastes just a bit better with the whip.
happy h-we'en!

Welcome to my world...
I had quite an exciting lunch experience today. I had to pick JLaw's dad...my boss up from the mechanic because he had to take Jlaw's car in (I'll let her share that story). On the way back we decide to stop and get something for lunch to bring back to the office. The lesser of all the evils in my mind was Taco Bell...you all know that says a lot. How often to I eat at Taco Bell?
Anyway, we are standing there waiting for our food and this dude walks up and says "Sheew weee girl, are you wearing heels?" Yes, sir I am. Good Gracious YOU ARE TALL.
I smiled looked at my boss and said hmmm, I guess that's a compliment. He laughed pretty hard, then started to stand on his tippy toes because in heels....I'm taller than him (he doesn't like that very much)!
Good thing I'm secure in who I am!

Pants
Guys, this may seem like a silly blog to you...but all the ladies reading will totally understand my excitement!
I have been looking for the perfect pair of dress kahki's for a couple of years now. I have looked high and low buying a few pair here and there...but never really in love with what I buy. Last night I went back out to the mall to look again in hopes that Maybe...just maybe the pants from above would be there. I thought about going to The Limited...but, something inside of me said "go to banana Republic". So, JLaw and I got a ride on the elevator and headed upstairs. Banana is one of those stores that I could walk into and buy one of everything. But, I usually can't afford anything unless it is on sale. So, we head back to the sale rack. I go into the dressing room with 3 pairs of pants. The last pair I tried on...they were "the pair." I check the price tag $47.99. I told Jlaw it's more than I would like to spend but, I have been looking for YEARS, I'll wear them A LOT and they are really nice and will last forever. She agreed and we headed up to the cash register.
When the lady scanned them the screen said $17.99. Of course I gasped. Jlaw gasped...the lady gasped. As the lady searched the pants to make sure they price was right...Jlaw and I were holding our breath hoping against all hope that this would be the right price. And guess what...IT WAS! Needless to say, some praises and thank you's were going out to the Lord right there at the cash register. I even said..."THIS IS WORTH A BLOG." I know the lady thought Jlaw and I were crazy because she quit talking to us toward the end of the ordeal...but I don't care.
Finally...the pants from above have come down to me!!!
sidebar: when I did spell check on this blog...the suggested change for kahki's was jackass. LOL!!!

Ugh
Why is it when most people go to mexico, they come home sick! Ugh! No matter how careful one is...they always end up sick! So just know, no matter what you do...if you go, you will come home not feeling so well!
Maybe it's sickness due to the sadness one feels when they have to return home from the beautiful tropical weather, white sandy beaches and crystal clear water. 9-5 on the beach for 5 days straight is pretty rough! Maybe it was more than I could handle!
Who knows!
